Behind the Name Mehen
A symbol from Egyptian mythology, Mehen is the name of the snake which appears on the Ouroboros symbol.
Ouroboros, a symbol of completeness, infinity, and cyclical renewal, is the name of the proof-of-stake consensus protocol on which Cardano is built.
Mehen is thought to be a protective deity who is depicted as a snake which coils around the sun god Ra during his journey through the night, for instance in the Amduat.
